Sara Adams Restaurateur

Sara is the Owner of The Terrace on Holland Street.  A Leith’s diploma course fuelled Sara’s love for food as did many years of work at Divertimenti Café and Cookery School. Sara opened her first restaurant, Kensington Square Kitchen in October 2007. Having cooked at and run Kensington

Square Kitchen for four years, Sara started to look for another site locally to create a more formal lunch and dinner offering. After a long search she found the perfect site and in March 2013 she opened The Terrace on Holland Street.

James Kelly Head Chef

James is originally from Ireland and discovered his love for food and cooking from an early age. His first job was at ‘The Mermaid’, a seafood restaurant in County Clare, where he washed dishes and then worked up the ranks to become a sous chef. Realizing that he wanted some more formal training James studied catering at Westminster Catering College with placements during his course at London establishments that included the Reform Club.

Post College, James worked  at The Rose & Crown, a Michelin rated gastro pub in Highgate, before moving to The Tea Palace in Notting Hill. James came to work with Sara at Kensington Square Kitchen at the end of 2008 and with her they’ve worked together closely on the food on offer for The Terrace.

James loves to use seasonal fresh ingredients in his cooking and is influenced by classic food writers that include Elizabeth David and Jane Grigson, as well as more contemporary and current chefs/food writers.

Christian Hodgkinson

Chris is Sara’s husband and has had a career change to come in and manage The Terrace. Originally a Chartered Surveyor, Christian has always loved food and enjoyed eating out. He’s worked closely in terms of the development of ideas and thoughts for the new restaurant with Sara.
